Fountain Life Server Rules

Introduction

Welcome to the Fountain Life Server! To ensure an engaging and enjoyable experience for all players, you are required to follow these rules and guidelines. Please read carefully, as ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.

General Conduct

  • Respect All Players: Do not use offensive language, insults, or slurs in any form. Avoid toxic behavior, targeted harassment, and keep all communications civil and constructive.

  • No Cheating or Exploits: Do not use mods, scripts, third party software, or take advantage of glitches to gain an unfair advantage. Report discovered bugs to staff immediately.

  • No Meta Gaming: Using information gained from outside the game (Discord, streams, OOC chat) to benefit your character in game is strictly forbidden.

  • No Power Gaming: Do not force actions on other players without giving them a chance to respond or roleplay. For example, you cannot declare someone is dead without allowing them to roleplay their injuries.

  • No Random Deathmatch (RDM): You must have a valid in character reason and provide reasonable roleplay initiation (e.g., a verbal warning or threat) before engaging in lethal force.

  • No Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM): Do not use vehicles to run over or injure other players outside of properly initiated and justified roleplay scenarios.

Roleplay Guidelines

  • Stay in Character: All in game voice and text chat must be in character unless specifically marked as OOC [Out of Character] using // or another server approved method.

  • Realistic Roleplay: Keep actions and dialogue believable. For example, do not claim superhuman abilities or act outside the limits of your character’s backstory.

  • Fear Roleplay (FearRP): If threatened with a weapon or overwhelming force, your character must act as if their life is at risk. Do not attempt to heroically resist unless the situation realistically allows it.

  • Value of Life: Avoid reckless behavior such as charging into gunfire or throwing away your character’s life without proper in-character justification.

  • New Life Rule (NLR): After your character dies, you must not remember details leading to your death, including names, locations, or reasons. You cannot return to the location of death for at least 30 minutes.

  • Initiation: Before robbing or attacking another player, you must provide a clear and audible verbal warning or demand (e.g., “Hands up! This is a robbery!”) and allow at least 5 seconds for compliance.

  • Hostage Situations: Hostages must be given negotiation opportunities and must not be killed unless all options are exhausted. Killing a hostage without sufficient roleplay escalation can result in punishment.

Communication

  • In-Game Voice: Do not yell, spam, or use soundboards in game voice channels. Use whisper, normal, or shout levels appropriately to the situation.

  • Out-of-Character Communication: Limit OOC chat to the designated channels. Do not interrupt roleplay with unrelated topics or spam.

  • Respect Staff: Follow staff instructions immediately. If you disagree with a decision, appeal respectfully through Discord or another official channel.

Combat Rules

  • Initiate Before Engaging: Always verbally or physically initiate roleplay before shooting unless in an active gunfight or ambush scenario.

  • Combat Logging: Do not disconnect, ALT+F4, or leave the game to avoid combat, arrest, or roleplay. This will result in an immediate ban.

  • No Revenge Killing: After dying, you cannot seek out or attack the person responsible for your death.

  • No Stream Sniping: Do not watch other players’ streams to locate or ambush them.

Property and Vehicles

  • No Griefing: Do not destroy, steal, or sabotage property or vehicles just to annoy or inconvenience others. Actions must be roleplay motivated and properly initiated.

  • Vehicle Usage: Drive and operate vehicles realistically. Do not use vehicles for stunts, jumps, or as battering rams without proper in-character motivation.

  • Base Raiding: Only raid player bases after initiating roleplay in person or via radio and with proper justification. Offline raiding (attacking when the owner is offline) is strictly forbidden.

  • Property Ownership: Follow server protocols for buying, maintaining, and selling property. Staff may reclaim abandoned properties after 14 days of inactivity.

Criminal Activity

  • Robberies and Kidnapping: Must be planned and executed with solid roleplay. Do not rob or kidnap more than once every 30 minutes per victim. Victims must have a fair chance to comply or escape.

  • No Unreasonable Demands: Example: Do not demand all of a victim’s money/items if it exceeds a reasonable portion (max 30% of on-hand cash/items).

  • No Killing on Sight (KoS): All violent confrontations must be preceded by escalation and roleplay; do not kill or attack players without prior interaction.

Police and Emergency Services

  • Respect Law Enforcement: Do not interfere in police or EMS duties unless your character has an in-character reason. Obey lawful orders unless roleplay dictates otherwise.

  • No Cop Baiting: Do not intentionally provoke police for the sole purpose of starting a chase or shootout.

  • Follow Arrest Protocols: Police must read rights, state charges, and allow suspects to respond. Civilians must comply or roleplay resistance realistically.

Server Integrity

  • No Advertising: Promotion of other servers, Discord channels, or external communities in chat or voice is strictly prohibited.

  • No Spamming: Limit repeated messages in chat, voice, or radio channels. Excessive messaging will result in a warning or mute.

  • Bug Reporting: Report any bugs or exploits directly to admins as soon as possible, do not share with others.

  • Staff Decisions: All staff decisions are final within the server. Appeals are available via the official process.

Account and Character Rules

  • One Life Per Character: Each player may only have one character.

This means all actions and consequences carry over — there are no “separate lives.”

Example: If you are a police officer and you go off duty, then get arrested by law enforcement for committing a crime, you may face losing your badge and job. Your criminal actions still count against your character, even while off duty.

  • No Impersonation: Impersonating a staff member, law enforcement, or another player will result in an immediate ban.

  • Appropriate Naming: All character names must be realistic (e.g., no meme or joke names), and must not include offensive or inappropriate language.

Community Engagement

  • Be Helpful: Assist new players and answer questions when possible.

  • Report Issues: Use Discord or the in-game report function to alert staff to rulebreaking or disruptive behavior.

  • Constructive Feedback: Suggestions and complaints must be submitted respectfully through proper channels.

Consequences

  • Warnings: Minor infractions (first offense) will receive a written or verbal warning.

  • Temporary Bans: Serious or repeated infractions will result in a ban ranging from 1 day to 1 month depending on severity.

  • Permanent Bans: Extreme or repeated violations, including cheating, combat logging, or griefing, will result in permanent removal from the server.

Final Notes

  • Rule Updates: These rules may change at any time refer, to the Discord for updates.

  • Appeals: Submit appeals for bans or disciplinary action through the official server channels with all relevant information.

Thank you for helping build a safe and enjoyable Arma Reforger life community. Respect the rules, play fair, and make every scenario memorable!
